Shining Tech. Ships CitiDisk DV

FireWire device allows for direct recording By Dave Nagel
Shining Technology has released its new CitiDisk DV. The CitiDisk DV is a portable FireWire storage device that allows for direct recording from DV devices, such as digital video cameras. It's available now.

CitiDisk DV supports direct recording DV streams from camcorders and instant playback from the computer. All of the DV streams are recorded and organized as computer-recognizable files, and users can instantly play back, edit, review and archive files, according to Shining.

The drive can also act as a regular FireWire drive for data storage when not being used in multimedia applications. And it includes a battery for portability.

CitiDisk is currently for $499 (20 GB) to $649 (40 GB). For more information, visit
