Seybold 2002 To Focus on Enterprise PublishingDesktop gets left behind
According to Key3Media, Seybold New York will focus on "enterprise publishing." According to the company, this means databases. Says Gene Gable, president of Seybold Seminars and Publications, "For many years the focus in our industry has been on the power of desktop technology. But now we need to look beyond the desktop and see the power that comes when databases, content repositories and other enterprise resources are combined in an effective publishing workflow. This new revolution will dramatically improve the impact of all communications."
The Seybold Enterprise Publishing Conference will be divided into eight tracks--three technology tracks and five industry tracks, each focused on different parts of the publishing process. There will also be a one-day "strategic educational program focusing on cross-media authoring tools, digital rights management systems and relevant business issues surrounding the integration of business systems and data for more effective communications."
The show will be held Feb. 19 through 22 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York. For more information, visit http://www.seyboldseminars.com.
