He brings over 10 years of experience (January 23, 2006)

Leading postproduction company Spy Post has added a new member to its team: Senior Compositor/VFX Supervisor Jon Wank. He brings over 10 years of experience working in high-end commercials, films, music videos and multimedia projects.

"Jon is a great addition to our team with his knowledge and command of visual effects as an artist and a supervisor," comments Eric Hanson, CEO of Spy Post. "He brings a collaborative approach to every job and understands our clients' creative, technical and budgetary needs. With his experience in film as well as the various broadcast formats, he adds another dimension to the company."

"I've learned a lot in the last few years of freelancing about the ins and outs of the business and how to get things done," remarks Wank. "Now it's time for me to move into a home base where I can build my own clientele with the knowledge and experience I've gained. Spy Post is great because of what they are doing with their telecine and HD work. They are already regarded as a great postproduction house, and they are positioned for exciting things in the future. I want to be a part of it. The people here are all bright, creative and driven, which makes for an ideal environment."

Over the past six years, Jon Wank has served as a lead compositor and visual effects supervisor for leading films and national commercials with significant experience working with high definition material. As a freelancer, he has collaborated with some of the top companies in the industry including Digital Domain, Industrial Light & Magic, Pacific Data Images, Radium, Post Logic, Imaginary Forces, and The Orphanage.

(Artificial Intelligence)," "Hellboy," "Twister" and the trailer for "Spider-Man."

Wank began his career in 1992 as an online editor at Hollywood Digital in Los Angeles. He then went to Bob & Sheila's Edit World in San Francisco where he worked on the Avid and in the creation of motion graphics. In 1996, Wank moved to Industrial Light & Magic as an Avid Editor, Postproduction Supervisor, and Graphic Artist. Wank then moved into the commercials department as a Flame Compositor and contributed to commercials and films for ILM.
