See CMI's CINEMA4D R11

New features elite training from CMI By Ko Maruyama
Chris Maynard has come up with some brand new video training on MAXON's latest version of CINEMA4D, R11.

They're launching their 7th training video for Maxon's Cinema 4d R11 3D application, but this time it will include the extensive use of the new tools Doodle, BodyPaint 4, and Projection Man. Content for this show was created in partnership with Chris Maynard, Michael Marcondes and Saizen Media for the commercial group cmi-saizen studios. The product series has been in development for nearly a year, and is fine tuned to work with a variety of different skill leveled users.

The original concept for this video was draught over a year ago, based on technology that was common place in most 3d applications. However, during the development of Projection Man (Probably the most important tool to digital set creation) by Maxon and Sony, we were able to study the ways for fixing common matte painting problems in a CG pipeline. During our testing period, major motion pictures were already beginning to show proof that Projection Man was "BAR NONE" the most convenient way to take a digital matte painting or set extension to a full 3d scene. After months of doing research, we had to completely revise the way we were thinking to accommodate such a powerful toolset now found in Cinema 4D R11.

Featuring the new matte painting features, Doodle and other new tools, the CMI training will help you quickly come up to speed on the Projection Man features.  Everything inside CINEMA 4D R11 fits together like a glove and CMI will help you figure out how to bring all of these tools together.  3D projections can be tricky, needing a lot of attention to detail and proper placement of objects in the scene.  They gave special attention to their process so that you could learn all kind of solutions to issues that might show up without getting frustrated by seemingly evil notions of a simple problem.

With total freedom we can fly into 2D painting like if it was real life. We can add more details, compose with real footage compositions, add new lights and atmospheric effects. Since the first time these techniques were used in production, producers and VFX supervisors realized that it was not only time saving but it could enhance the quality and realism of the work way beyond imagined.

Michael Marcondes is a Brazilian independent artist that has been working freelance for the past 7 years internationally. He worked on hundreds of projects ranging from print to broadcast using a great variety of tools like Maya, Lightwave, Cinema 4D, PfTrack, Fusion and Shake. He has a strong passion for the detail in lighting, shading and rendering. He is in love with a good render!
