SecureAuth's Newest Release of SSO and 2-Factor Authentication for Mobile Devices Turns Android Smartphones and Tablets Into Valuable Business ToolsSecureAuth IEP Ensures Maximum Login Productivity, Reduces Risk, and Ensures Compliance for Android Mobile Devices for a Fraction of the Cost of a Standalone Token or SSO Solution (May 10, 2011)
IRVINE, CA and LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 05/10/11 -- SecureAuth Corporation, a leader in identity enforcement for cloud, on-premise, VPN, and mobile resources, today announced at Interop 2011, a new version of SecureAuth IEP's SSO and 2-factor authentication that takes full advantage of the Android mobile operating system. This version enables a user to securely log into on-premise and cloud applications from any Android smartphone or tablet without onerous prompts and messages.
A breakthrough in innovation, SecureAuth IEP's authentication now leverages the advanced native Android run time environment to conduct secure user identification. SecureAuth IEP utilizes Android's native Dalvik run time engine to execute, create, store, and retrieve cryptographic information in the secure boundaries of the SecureAuth IEP application space. Until now, users had to understand and respond to cryptic warning messages. Now a user follows a simple browser message that is executed in a SecureAuth embedded browser eliminating any warning messages. Once SecureAuth IEP determines the validity of the user, the user is securely redirected to the application in the native Android browser.
In addition, SecureAuth IEP enables an organization to configure client authentication without any coding or the use of APIs. By implementing SecureAuth IEP, employees use their same desktop login credentials when logging into applications from their Android devices and IT can rest assured that the user is who they say they are before access is granted to valuable information resources.
"In today's connected world, accessing applications from Android devices or in the cloud must be as secure as, or exceed the level of security required to access applications from the office. Network World's article, Top Tips for Turning Android into a Business Phone, specifically calls out the need for authentication and has identified SecureAuth as a solution," stated Craig Lund, CEO and co-founder, SecureAuth Corporation. "A single login experience makes it easy for users to access resources, but the combination of SSO and 2-Factor authentication is what it takes to ensure that a user is who they say they are before access is ever granted -- even if they are authorized to access an application."
Lund continues, "Our goal is to provide the simplest, securest access from Android devices to on-premise web and cloud applications. Android support is important because so many companies simply haven't been able to find a solution until now. To reduce the management overhead, it is also important to support Android and Microsoft ASP.NET, J2EE, and SAML in the same solution."
