Secret Service details NATO Summit restrictionsSecret Service NATO restrictions for downtown Chicago including shutting down Lake Shore Drive
CHICAGO (AP) ' The U.S. Secret Service is making it tougher to drive, park and sail around downtown Chicago during the upcoming NATO Summit.
The agency released a security plan Friday. The number of places closed to public access grows as it gets closer to the May 20-21 summit.
Among roadways that will be shut down is a stretch of Lake Shore Drive near McCormick Place, the site of the summit. There will also be intermittent road closures on the Kennedy Expressway between O'Hare International Airport and downtown from May 19 through May 21 to accommodate motorcades.
The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium will be closed May 20. There will also be road closures around Willis Tower, North America's tallest building, and boating restrictions on Lake Michigan.
