Screentime Media Announces mProjector for OS XCreate Mac applications and windowless widgets in Flash (February 03, 2005)
ScreenTime Media, the leading developer of flash extensions for Macintosh and Windows, today announced mProjector for Macintosh. mProjector converts Macromedia Flash MX files into powerful, full featured Mac applications - or simple compelling standalone widgets.
For the first time, Flash programmers using mProjector can quickly and easily create Mac applications which utilize menus, the file system, internet connectivity, and more - all at the click of a button. Applications can use standard Mac OS X windows, or play "windowless" in frames of any shape.
mProjector includes a powerful set of "mFunctions" accessible from within Flash. These extend Flash functionality dramatically, by including File system functions such as read, write, delete and rename; Window functions to move, resize, show and hide windows; Menu functions to add and remove menus, and System functions to download files, set screen savers or wallpaper to be active, and to make and load screen grabs.
The first product to ship using mProjector is already available from 2Entwine with the release of Gush 1.3. Wes Carr, President of 2Entwine, says "Once we experienced the power and performance of mProjector on the Mac we new we had to use if for our next release of Gush. mProjector enabled us to easily do things in Flash that were either difficult or impossible in the past."
Pricing: mProjector for Mac OS X is $199 and includes an unlimited distribution license for applications it creates. mProjector for Windows is priced similarly.
The company that took Flash out of the browser and into Screen Savers and Wallpapers, now moves it into desktop applications.
