ScreamingMedia Chairman Joins Interactive Video Technologies Board of Directors(January 15, 2002)
Clark joined ScreamingMedia as an investor and director in November 1998 and served as CEO from November 1999 to January 2002. During Clark's tenure as CEO, ScreamingMedia recorded exponential sales growth and became a leading content and technology solutions provider. Clark has been ScreamingMedia's Chairman since May 2001.
"Interactive Video Technologies is truly a great company -- with great products, people and leadership," remarked Clark. "It is exactly the type of innovation coming from companies like IVT that is going to propel the video communications marketplace throughout the 21st Century. I am very pleased to be joining this very talented group of professionals."
IVT's flagship software solution, MediaPlatform, puts the power of rich media and streaming video presentations into the hands of today's businesses -- enabling them to create, manage and deploy rich media Web pages for live events and video-on-demand -- while significantly cutting the costs of the entire streaming process. IVT's solution set is further expanded by the company's recent acquisition of Digital Lava, Inc., a provider of rich mixed media software products and services for use in corporate training, communications and sales and marketing applications.
"We are excited that Kevin has chosen to bring his experience and understanding of successfully leveraging new media technologies to IVT," said IVT Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark Lieberman. "I look forward to working with Kevin to help position MediaPlatform and our other rich media products as market leaders."
Before joining ScreamingMedia, Clark served as a director and later as chairman and CEO of Poppe Tyson from 1996 to 1998 when it merged with Modem Media (NASDAQ:MMPT). Prior to that, he was the co-founder of Cross Country Travcorps (NASDAQ:CCRN), which is now the nation's largest healthcare professional placement firm.
Clark was named as one of the top 100 media executives by Silicon Alley Reporter in 2000 and 2001 and was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year Award by Ernst & Young in 2001. Additionally, he was selected by Fortune magazine as one of the "Forty under Forty" -- the country's top entrepreneurs under 40 years of age -- in 1994.
Clark is a member of the Board of Directors for HealthMarket, Inc. and is the Chairman of Young Presidents Organization's Fairchester Chapter.
