FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SCOUNDREL VISUAL EFFECTS CELEBRATES EMMY WIN FOR "THE PACIFIC"
Santa Monica, CA (September 13, 2010) -- An incredible year for Scoundrel Visual Effects just got even better after Scoundrel's own Visual Effects Supervisor, Marco Recuay, was announced as one of the winners of this year's Emmy Award for Outstanding Special Visual Effects For A Miniseries. The award was in recognition of the breathtaking visual effects work on the groundbreaking HBO miniseries "The Pacific."
Marco Recuay supervised over 600 shots on the project, the largest batch of shots of any vendor. The winners were announced at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony on August 21st. Recuay was on-hand at the ceremony to collect the award.
"I am ecstatic about the Emmy win and extremely pleased to see the excellent work of our artists rewarded," said Recuay. "It was a long and difficult project, and the Emmy was a great end to a fantastic project."
After completing work on "The Pacific", Recuay formed Scoundrel Visual Effects alongside fellow "Pacific" compositing, CG, and production supervisors Nick Lund-Ulrich, Morgan McDermott, and Tom Clary.
Scoundrel would like to thank HBO, John Sullivan, David Taritero and all the members of the "Pacific" team who worked so hard to make the project such a resounding success.
