Acclaimed Brazilian director Amon joins Saville Productions
Amon, who recently shot a Colgate campaign for the ?Max Fresh product through Saville Productions for Y&R in New York with Jacques Borris, Global Creative Director, and Olivier Gauriat, Global Executive Producer, is one of the most known and awarded directors in Latin America. Born in Porta Alegre, Brazil, in 1960, Amon finished high school in the USA where he got started in photography. Amon started his professional life as a stills photographer while shooting super-8 low budget films which won numerous awards in Brazil in local film festivals.
Basing himself in Sao Paulo, Amon started working in larger formats and directed his first feature film, ?Aqueles Dois. Soon after, Amon started working in commercials, initially as a Director of Photography, and then soon started directing commercials with strong visual appeal.
The strong partnership he developed with the most talented creative professionals in Brazil resulted in an outstanding reel, which has won and continues to win numerous international awards. He has shot in the USA, Europe and throughout South America. Amon is known as a perfectionist working with true passion in every phase of the process, having been responsible for some of the most memorable ads-- and those with the greatest recall-- in Brazil. Amons campaigns for Brahma Beer with the turtle is one of the most successful campaigns ever in Brazil.
Amons work is rich in narrative, humanity and human emotion and he excels at CG FXs. Equally at home with comedy, or lyrical images that convey wonderful human emotions as with all the complexities of a special effects shoot. His collaborations with leading agencies such as Almap/BBDO are excellent, and he has been responsible for directing many of their award-winning campaigns. Amon has been chosen by Ojo De Ibero America as the Best Commercial Director for the last three years.
