San Francisco Design Team Unleashes The Unlace Project on Kickstarter

  (October 18, 2012)

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 18, 2012

The Unlace Project by Cindy Glass and Dante Pauwels, a San Francisco-based design and business team launched The Unlace Project on Kickstarter with a goal of raising $10,000 to fund its first production and defray early manufacturing costs.

Inspired by a shoelace, Unlace is a colorful, rubbery, twistable tie for untangling knotty problems with cords, cables, or any other loose end. The teams goal was to find a low-tech, high design, and fun, solution to problems that come along with high-tech lifestyle gadgets. Starting with iPhone earbuds. We love our iPhones, said Pauwels. But, when we pull those earbuds out of our bags and discover nothing but tangles? Instant frustration, sometimes even despair.

The Unlace comes in two sizes a 5 for ear buds, and similarly small cords and a 10 configuration for power cords and other burly cables. Both sizes come in eight colors: white, yellow, orange, pink, green, blue, silver, and black. For Kickstarter rewards, Unlace will arrive in a 5" Citrus Pack (white, yellow, orange, pink), a 5" Forest Pack (green, blue, silver, and black), and a 10" Rainbow Pack (all colors.)

The Unlace Project falls under the Design Category and will be one of the first projects submitted after Kickstarter revised the guidelines in this category in late September. The team behind the project, Dante Pauwels, a Stanford-trained product designer and entrepreneur, and Cindy Glass, a Darden School and former financial analyst turned entrepreneur, recently joined together to pursue several design projects. They recently started a tech accessories company, Unplugged Goods, which will launch in late October. The Unlace Project is their first effort for Kickstarter.

The Unlace Project is live October 17, 2012 and closing November 16, 2012. On Kickstarter, Unlace can be found http://www.kickstarter.com under Unlace: A New Twist on Tangle Free Cords.
