San Diego Ad Club to Present The One Show's 2011 Winners at Special Luncheon Program Thursday, Nov. 10

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/04/11 -- The San Diego Ad Club will present The One Show's 2011 winners at a special luncheon program from noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10, at Phil's BBQ Event Center, 3750 Sports Arena Blvd., San Diego. The public is invited to attend.

The One Show is an international awards program that represents the best creative advertising work in print, radio, television, design, interactive and new media categories. The One Club for Art and Copy, a New York City-based organization, produces The One Show awards program. The last time The One Club officials appeared at an Ad Club event to show all The One Show winners from a specific year was 2007.

At the Ad Club's event on Nov. 10, Kevin Swanepoel, One Club president will speak and discuss The One Show's 2011 winners, which included advertising from some of the world's most recognizable brands, including Nike, ESPN, NFL and Old Spice.

Swanepoel, with 23 years of experience in the advertising industry, worked as the chief creative officer at two ad agencies prior to joining The One Club in 1998. He also worked as a new media manager at Apple Computer, in charge of producing design forums and conferences throughout South Africa. He became president of The One Club in 2006. He is credited with building The One Show Interactive into one of the top international interactive award shows worldwide.


Swanepoel has appeared on FOX, NBC and CBS as an authority on current advertising trends and has been published in AdWeek, Advertising Age, Creativity, AdHoc, Advertising and Design, Campaign Brief and Propaganda and Marketing. He has taught interactive online design for the Academy of Arts in San Francisco, and created first of their kind creative workshops serving students and young advertising creatives in China and Southeast Asia.
