Sagan Updates Metro and Metro SE

New versions add enhanced plugin support, stability improvements By Dave Nagel
Sagan Technology has released Metro 6.1 and Metro SE 6.1. Metro is a sequencer and production system that incorporates MIDI, audio and video, while Metro SE is a stripped-down version of the Metro application that eliminates the "non-essential" features of the full version. Both are available now for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X.

Metro supports up to 64 audio tracks and eight aux busses, each with its own effect chain. (Chains can include VST and VST 2.0 effects and Audio Units.) It also includes professional-level MIDI functionality and includes support for VST and CoreMIDI on Mac OS X. The new version of Metro adds Notation and Lyrics windows on Mac OS X, as well as notation printing on Mac OS X. It adds enhanced support for Absynth, Phatmatic Pro and other plugins and adds new remote control events for arming a new track and for jogging with any controller. It also fixes bugs, adds stability enhancements and incorporates other minor changes.

Metro SE 6.1 adds enhancements to the Synthesizer Plugin window and gains new standard saving and loading of Audio Unit presets, enhanced plugin support, the ability to clear recent items from the Open and Import menus and other miscellaneous bug fixes and stability improvements.

Metro 6.1 is available now for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X for $319.99. Metro SE 6.1 runs $69.99. For more information, visit
