SSL To Show V2 Update For C200 at AESEnhancements provide greater post production flexibility and power (August 23, 2004)
At this years AES, Solid State Logic will display its highly acclaimed C200 digital production console, featuring new Version 2 software with powerful production enhancements, as well as provide live demonstrations at the SSL booth, from October 28 to 31 at the Moscone Convention Center (booth #1002). The C200 has had much success in music production, with sales including Underdog, LA and BiCoastal, NY, plus Floating Earth and MSG in Europe.
More Channels for larger productions
The C200s V2 update increases the consoles capacity to 128 in-line channels by simply adding more Channel DSP cards to the Centuri Core. Higher channel counts, with full EQ, filters and dynamics signal processing, support larger productions with capacity for virtual premixing and processing of stem returns. Processing emulation for EQ and dynamics provide a superb, warm ?analogue sound quality thats designed to add depth and character to workstation productions. Combined with the ability to control a larger number of channels from smaller console frames, the C200 provides large-scale production power from a compact console footprint.
Support for 44.1kHz, 88.2kHz and Pull-up/Pull-down Sample Frequencies
At the heart of the C200 console, lies SSLs Centuri processing core, now with the option to support several new internal processing rates covering 44.1kHz or 88.2kHz, and any 0.1% pull-up or pull-down derivatives of these new, and standard 48 and 96kHz sample frequencies. This provides a variety of options when working with the multiple sample frequencies in a modern digital production.
UltiPan Automated Spatial Positioning
SSLs revolutionary UltiPan interface provides two new and exciting ways of controlling panning across multi-channel outputs.
The conventional X/Y pan mode keeps all existing freehand pen/puck panning and divergence modes of the C200s existing PanPoint interface, and adds a number of constrained modes allowing dynamic panning of signals across specific soundscape axes.
SSLs ThetaPan elegantly spreads a point source across adjacent speakers without requiring multiple complex divergence controls, and enables signals to be passed throughout the boundaries of the soundfield in a circular motion. This unique panning interface is available for small and large fader signal paths, and may be applied to both mono and stereo sources.
Flexible Output Busing Options
A new option for the C200s multi-track bus structure enables 24 buses to be accessible from both large and small fader paths simultaneously. This feature significantly increases the stem mixing power of the console, with the ability to route to a total of 36 mix buses (12 Main plus 24 Multitrack) from up to 256 potential channel inputs.
Combined with the C200s 24 x 12 effects return matrix, ideal for creating final delivery formats, and comprehensive 5.1 monitoring system, the C200 elegantly handles complex large format productions.
