SSL To Intro V2 Software For C100 Console at NAB

Powerful enhancements provide new levels of flexibility and control (February 11, 2005)

Solid State Logic will be showcasing powerful new enhancements for its popular C100 Digital Broadcast Console at this years NAB from April 18 to 21 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Booth # N3211). The new feature set is worthy of its V2 identity, offering an abundance of power enhancing options crafted for the broadcaster.

At the top of new feature list is TouchPan, which provides full 5.1 panning access from the central touchscreen, with color coded displays and comprehensive control of all surround parameters. This powerful addition allows simple setup and control for sophisticated 5.1 productions. The new software also comes with new channel TFT Graphics, which enhance the operator's overview through per-channel display of processing, panning and source allocations.

Version-2 also supports new I/O expansion for the Centuri core, for example, doubling the mic input capacity within the processing chassis, and thus providing a true one-box solution for space-critical OB trucks and studio facilities.

Expanded cue-feed options provide a range of new foldback features, including sophisticated ?conference type facilities. This is where a talent's foldback is toggled between a designated ?cue signal and the mix minus signal allowing off-air dialogue between segments. Enhanced logic functions allow for the sophisticated programming of fader and aux logic for automatic cue or record feeds.

V2 also increases the C100s range of applications through support for 44.1kHz native sample frequency operation thus increasing the quality and ease of interfacing for audiophile radio projects such as classical music stations

?The C100 continues to meet the needs of todays broadcaster, as the industry makes the transition to all-digital production and delivery, says SSL Director of Product Marketing Niall Feldman. ?Version 2 software has been developed in response to feedback from the established C100 user base who have already moved to digital production in a wide range of applications. Version 2 software enhances the C100s flexibility while retaining the failsafe operation capabilities so critical for live applications.

Introduced at NAB 2003, the C100 Digital Broadcast Console has had unprecedented broadcast sales success around the world since its release. Recent purchasers include the WFTS, Tampa, FL; WSVN, Miami, FL; WHDH, Boston, MA; ABC TV3, NY; Comcast, PA; NBA Entertainment, NJ; Golf Channel, FL; Food Network, NY: NHK Sapporo, Japan; TCN Channel 9, Australia; Nippon Hoso, Japan and MBC, Korea. Danish Broadcasting and Seoul Broadcast (SBS), Korea, placed multiple C100 console orders.
