SNW Names Recipients of Best Practices in Storage AwardsAwards Presented at Storage Networking World in Orlando (October 28, 2005)
Storage Networking World (SNW), the world's largest educational event on storage networking technologies, announced the recipients of its "Best Practices in Storage" awards at a ceremony held Wednesday night. The event, which concluded yesterday at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes Resort in Orlando, Florida, is co-owned by IDG's Computerworld, the "Voice of IT Management," and the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA).
Recipients of the "Best Practices in Storage" awards were selected from approximately 100 entries in five categories, with two honorees per category and honorable mentions for each. They were judged by representatives from a variety of organizations including Pace University, Rent-A-Center and The Evaluator Group. Awards were presented to the following organizations:
-- Innovation and Promise -- Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation, Memphis, Tennessee and Navy Surface Combat Systems Center, Wallops Island, Virginia
-- Industry Regulation Compliance and Corporate Governance -- Dallas Morning News, Dallas, Texas and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York
-- Data Lifecycle Management -- Palmetto Health, Columbia, South Carolina and SMART Communications, Inc., Makati City, Philippines
-- Systems Implementation -- Cerner Corporation, Lee's Summit, Missouri and Community Health, Indianapolis, Indiana
-- Storage Reliability and Data Recovery -- William Beaumont Hospitals, Royal Oak, Michigan and Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Storage Networking World was held from October 24 - 27, 2005 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes Resort, Orlando, Fla.
