SMART Shows Interactive Displays For Broadcasters at NAB

SMART Board interactive whiteboards used to explain scenarios and news items (April 17, 2005)

SMART Technologies Inc. announces that a range of its state-of-the-art interactive displays for broadcasters will be shown at its booth, #SL4423, at NAB 2005. The trade show will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from April 18-21.

SMARTs booth will feature three interactive scenarios that fit easily into regular programming: a sports analysis of football, a news spot on a forest fire and a feature story on a mission to Mars. Each sequence allows on-screen presenters to move icons and write over the content and live video displayed on the SMART Board interactive whiteboard. For example, a football analyst can set up a typical play on the SMART Board interactive whiteboard using the icons available, write digital notes over the play and then switch to live video, pausing it at any time to highlight players or the play routes in digital ink. There will also be demos of broadcasting and business applications, other SMART products and the award-winning SMART Board software that comes with each SMART Board and Sympodium product.

The interactive scenarios will be displayed on a number of SMARTs interactive whiteboard products:
- Rear Projection SMART Board 3000i interactive whiteboard
- Rear Projection SMART Board 4000i interactive whiteboard
- In-Wall Rear Projection SMART Board 2865 interactive whiteboard
- SMART Board for Flat-Panel Displays interactive whiteboard
- Sympodium ID250 interactive pen display
- Actalyst interactive digital signage

?In our increasingly visual world, SMART Board interactive whiteboards provide broadcasters with the ability to write over video, charts, and images to explain scenarios in a way that captures and retains the attention of viewers, says Nancy Knowlton, SMARTs president and co-CEO. ?SMARTs booth at NAB 2005 will exhibit all of the SMART products interactive features and demonstrate their dynamic contributions to all forms of broadcasting.
