SMART Annouces New Software

Records data and audio as single file for playback or online viewing (October 22, 2001)
SMART Technologies Inc. announces SMART Recorder, a feature in new SMART Board Software for Windows with which users can easily capture and save synchronized data and audio. When using the SMART Board, all annotations and information can be recorded to a single file. Using any standard microphone, audio is captured in the same file and automatically synched with the data. This file can be played back in Windows Media Player or viewed online. Using a simple three-button interface (record, pause and stop), SMART Recorder can be activated at any point during a presentation or meeting. Once activated, a clock shows recording time and a moving icon indicates that Recorder is on. Audio and video quality settings in Recorder and display settings in Windows can be adjusted to achieve an optimum file size. Files are saved as .AVI files.

In addition to SMART Recorder, new SMART Board Software also features anti-aliasing and the option to save SMART Notebook documents as PDF files. SMART Board Software, including SMART Board driver 7.0 and SMART Notebook 2.4, is available free to SMART customers from the SMART Web site.
