Staten Island, NY (PRWEB) August 30, 2011
SILive.com has launched new Android and iPhone smartphone apps covering high school sports teams throughout Staten Island.
The SILive.com High School Sports Android app and the Staten Island High School Sports iPhone app feature content from the number one Staten Island news, sports and information website in affiliation with the Staten Island Advance.
"We take pride in our coverage of high school sports," said Advance sports editor Carmine Angioli. "No one knows Staten Island sports better than our staff. It's exciting that Staten Island high school sports fans have this new way to see what we have each day."
The apps are free for consumers to download and use. Fans are able to select and save their favorite teams to appear on the home screen of the app. Users who select favorite teams will see each teams latest game scoreboard and upcoming schedule. They also will have the option of requesting push alert notifications whenever any of their favorite teams has completed a game.
If youre a Staten Island high school sports fan, particularly if you follow specific schools and teams, you are going to love this app, said David Liss, senior producer for sports at SILive.com. After a couple of easy clicks to set up your team preferences, youll have an instant connection to all the results you care about.
The apps are available for download at no charge in the iTunes App Store and the Android Market. They were developed and launched with Advance Internet and Mobile IQ. The technology development firm Mobile IQ worked with Advance Internet to provide a unique and engaging smartphone app experience for the millions of high school sports fans using Advance Internet sites, including SILive.com the leading local source of high school sports news and information on Staten Island.
