SHOWTIME(R) Launches Free iPhone App With TransperaMobile Audiences Gain Access to Select Full Episodes and Video Clips on the Go; Mobile Video Ad Capabilities Open New Opportunities for the Network and Marketers (October 06, 2009)
NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 10/06/09 -- Showtime Networks announced today the launch of its free iPhone application, available to consumers directly through the Apple app store. The mobile application is powered by Transpera, the largest mobile video delivery and ad network in North America, and offers the ability to sample select full episodes and video clips from critically-acclaimed SHOWTIME original series, along with the opportunity for targeted, dynamic mobile advertising.
Select sampling episodes of SHOWTIME original series, including the new season premiere episodes of "Dexter(TM)" and "Californication," along with the Emmy® award winning "United States of Tara," "Weeds," "Nurse Jackie," "The Tudors," "Tracey Ullman's State of the Union," and "Penn & Teller: BULLSHIT!," are among the vast selection of video content available through the new app. Video will be added regularly with select sneak peek clips of next week's episodes, behind-the-scenes features, and interviews with cast members and guest stars, as well as video content created specifically for digital platforms. iPhone users will also find related programming schedules for all channels from Showtime Networks, as well as games, podcasts and soundtracks related to SHOWTIME shows, all which can be enjoyed on iPhone and iPod Touch devices. Fans who are not yet SHOWTIME subscribers can use the click-to-call feature on the iPhone to take advantage of the limited time offer to order SHOWTIME for $7.99/mo or less.
