SEC To Showcase Turbosound Aspect Loudspeakers At AESAspect represents Turbosound's most efficient loudspeaker design to date (October 07, 2004)
One of the loudspeaker models in the new Turbosound Aspect Series - the TA-890H
Turbosound's Aspect Series utilizes in-house designed transducers, which operate over four frequency bands. These are divided between the system's modular mid/high and low-frequency enclosures, which all feature high-stability neodymium magnets. These offer greater efficiency and thermal stability, together with lower power compression and a reduction in overall weight. Among the new system's most innovative developments are the Polyhorn waveguides - for the design's high-frequency and mid/high-frequency bands, and comprise equal-path-length, multi-section waveguides that create a phase-coherent wavefront.
The unique Polyhorn concept allows individual wavefronts to coincide seamlessly with the physical curvature of an array. This approach minimizes comb-filtering effects between adjacent cabinets and is responsible for the system's tightly focused point-and-shoot directivity. It is intuitively adaptable to the largest range of room-size and audience coverage requirements, with easy scalability from small clubs and auditoria, to the largest arenas and stadia. The Aspect Touring Series features integral flying hardware for both horizontal and vertical orientation, and offers dramatically rationalized transportation. The dimensions of the identically-sized mid/high and LF enclosures have been carefully chosen to optimize truck packing in U.S. and European vehicles.
A trapezoidal version of the mid/high is also offered for ground stacked touring applications and fixed installs, partnered with a very compact two x 15 low-frequency enclosure.
Turbosound Ltd. has an enviable reputation for engineering innovation, sonic excellence and reliability, and is headquartered in the U.K., located in the English countryside south of London, in a purpose-built manufacturing facility that houses the company's design, sales, test and production departments.
