SCGI's Asiva Technology used in New Color Correction Tool

Tool Used Successfully in Film and TV to be Available for Still Imagery (July 20, 2001)
Shapiro Consulting Group, Inc is developing a digital color correction and enhancement application for the graphic arts industry that is based on SCGI's Asiva technology, which the company says allows intricate color correction and enhancement to digital images.

Asiva's patented technology has been used extensively in video editing work in the past four years. HBO has aired productions using Asiva technology, because Asiva effects are so natural as to be indistinguishable from uncorrected footage, the company said.

Stephen Spielberg's SHOAH Foundation used Asiva to enhance and correct color for a documentary aired on TNT. The technology has also enhanced productions aired on A&E, PBS and NBC.

SCGI was formed in April 1994 to act as a technology incubator for Richard and Esther Shapiro Entertainment, Inc. (RESI). The intention was to create exclusive technology that could give a competitive advantage to RESI's television productions.

The application, called Asiva Photo, runs on the Macintosh operating system and applies the technology to images intended for use in digital and print formats. For further information, please contact Roland Lee at 1-888-800-5508.
