S4 Studios Creates Twisted Metal Black WebisodesFlash Series Based on Twisted Metal Black for PlayStation2 (November 05, 2001) S4 Studios, the 3D and Flash animation content studio founded by animation veterans Dale Hendrickson, Geoffrey Kater and Larry Le Francis, has created a series of six original flash webisodes to promote the recent release of Twisted Metal:Black for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system. Each week, one new episode will air on a limited basis on select game fan sites as well at www.twistedmetalblack-webisodes.com.
Directed by S4s Geoffrey Kater and written by Seth and Adam Gross, each webisode departs from the mature-rated games ultimate madness and destructive gameplay to delve into the individual psyches of the dark characters that inhabit Twisted Metal:Black. Once a week, characters originally created in the Twisted Metal:Black universe, beginning with No-Face and including Billy Ray Stillwell, Doll Face, Bloody Mary and Mr. Grimm, will wreak horror on some person unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
S4 Producer/Director Geoff Kater, a veteran flash animator whose credits include The Silver Surfer, Thumb Wars and Fox Family Channel, set out to duplicate the game's dark feel and moody lighting. "We were given character designs and very basic histories of how each character became part of the Twisted Metal:Black oeuvre, and just took it from there," he says.
