Riverbed to Demonstrate Cloud Performance Solutions at GovCloud 2011(October 18, 2011)
SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 10/18/11 -- Riverbed Technology (NASDAQ: RVBD), the IT performance company, today announced it will demonstrate its cloud performance solutions at GovCloud 2011, taking place October 25 at Reagan Pavilion in Washington, D.C. GovCloud 2011 is an event where IT professionals in federal, state and local government will develop a deeper understanding of the options available for cloud services in government IT environments. Attendees can visit the Riverbed® station to learn about the company's cloud performance solutions, which help government agencies meet mandates -- to consolidate data centers, reduce costs for IT, and execute on the cloud first policy -- without compromising performance.
The challenges associated with distance introduced by data center consolidation or a move to the cloud can adversely impact performance and the user experience. Riverbed provides government agencies with IT performance solutions -- including application-aware network performance management (NPM) and wide area network (WAN) optimization solutions -- that are critical to successful IT initiatives and for meeting mandates.
The Riverbed Cascade® application-aware NPM solution provides network visibility and maps IT environments and application dependencies, reducing the risks and challenges associated with data center migrations. Riverbed award-winning WAN optimization solutions, including Steelhead® appliances, Cloud Steelhead and Virtual Steelhead, have provided customers with five, 50X, or even up to a 100X improvement in application performance and up to 98 percent data reduction -- both critical for migrating and accelerating the transmission of applications and data deployed in public, private and hybrid clouds.
