Richard Bazley Relocates to English Media Park

Lead animator for Iron Giant, Hercules and Osmosis Jones By DMN Staff Writer
The new Corsham Media Park west of London is hoping to lure production and post-production companies away from Londons Soho, with studios, blue screen facilities, underground storage, a sound stage, and a back lot. The grand opening Sept. 21 is expected to attract a number of high-profile guests, including BAFTA chairman Simon Relph and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason.

Among the first tenants is animator Richard Bazley, whose credits include lead animator
on Warners The Iron Giant and Disneys Hercules, and lead animator for the character Drix in Warner's Osmosis Jones.

Bazley has recently returned to his native England from Los Angeles. At his new studio in Corsham Park, Bazley is completing The Return of Edwin Carp, a followup to his film short The Journal of Edwin Carp, which screened at the Los Angeles Laemmle Theater on Sunset Boulevard in August. Corsham Media Park is based in Wiltshire, near the City of Bath, on 42 acres of an old military base leased from the Ministry of Defense. There are 1.6 terabytes of bandwidth available, courtesy of a former Ministry of Defense communications grid on the property called the ?Golden 8, now the internet backbone in the UK.
