RichFX Announces New Projects for American Express, Coach, Spiegel, Levenger, and Havertys

(January 14, 2002)
RichFX Inc. announced today that its technology has been licensed to enhance product presentations on the Internet for five leading brand-name clients including:

  • American Express

  • Coach

•, a subsidiary of The Spiegel Group

  • Levenger

  • Havertys

John Mellor, Vice President of Corporate Development for RichFX said, "As 2002 begins, we are delighted that five high profile clients will use RichFX technology to improve their customers' shopping experiences. Our ZoomFX product offers an unmatched rich media experience with very attractive returns on the minimal investment required. These new projects demonstrate that RichFX technology continues at the forefront in delivering engaging, interactive and highly realistic online product presentations, regardless of Internet connection speed."

RichFX's ZoomFX technology allows consumers to examine key product features. Each feature appears as an interactive "hot spot" on an item or group of items, which when clicked, delivers a smooth zoom into fine product details while maintaining a consistently high image quality - unlike other zoom technologies which significantly blur images. Realistic colors, patterns, and textures are clearly zoomed-in on without pixelation. ZoomFX also allows customers viewing products online to "pan and zoom" on one object or a set of objects. While zooming, customers hear an automatically synched audio narration about the product or group of products. ZoomFX technology is a particularly affordable solution because it can leverage Web sites' pre- existing 2D photography., in its initial use of RichFX's ZoomFX technology, experienced an increase in its conversion rate of 130% for shoppers viewing RichFX product presentations compared to standard product images. Coach now is expanding the amount of merchandise viewable using ZoomFX technology. RichFX empowers's shoppers to examine the finest details of its merchandise, such as the hardware of a handbag or the grain of the leather.

    American Express

RichFX worked with American Express Publishing's magazines (Food & Wine and T&L Golf) on a holiday email campaign inviting subscribers to purchase the magazine subscriptions as gifts for loved ones. Once a gift was ordered, the gift giver was able to inform the recipient via a greeting card created, compressed and streamed using RichFX 3D Video Graphics Technology. Gift recipients received an email with a link to the RichFX card, which was digitally animated with music. American Express Publishing is currently working with RichFX on identifying future opportunities for 2002.

Following the successful launch of RichFX's ZoomFX technology on the all- new in Fall 2001, Spiegel has decided to more than double its use of ZoomFX on its site this year.

Richard Burke, Divisional Vice-President of E-Commerce for Spiegel said, "We are more than doubling the number of ZoomFX-enabled products. In addition, RichFX technology will now give shoppers the ability to pan and zoom at the same time with synched audio narrations of groups of products in a lifestyle context. Greater cross-selling opportunities will be created since RichFX allows for more than one product to be presented and explored at the same time."

Levenger will implement RichFX's ZoomFX technology to showcase the quality of its office-related products online.

Lynnette Montgomery, Internet Marketing Manager, for Levenger said, "RichFX's ZoomFX technology shows the detail of our products without compromising visual quality. The RichFX Professional Services Team quickly trained our Web staff to do all ZoomFX content production in-house with the affordable ZoomFX Pro tool. We are looking forward to launching ZoomFX on our site this Spring and expect this effort to result in increased sales with fewer returns."

Havertys is adopting RichFX's ZoomFX technology for both its Web site as well as for in-store Kiosks that will allow customers to view out-of-stock furniture virtually in the store.
Tom Curran, Vice President of Advertising for Havertys said, "Being able to represent and explain our products online and at our in-store kiosks with such life-like detail ensures that our customers find what they need. RichFX provided the training and tools for our team to implement this technology, making it much more affordable than any other solution even close to this caliber of visual quality."
