Website allows users to upload and sell footage, motion backgrounds and animations priced at only $15 for SD to $35 for HD. (August 21, 2006)
Revolution Stock Media ( officially opened for business in May of this year and the site's "Producers" have already added over 2,500 footage files, motion backgrounds and animations to the site's library of footage.  The website was created to give video professionals an outlet for the footage they shoot and motion graphics they create, while also making stock footage affordable and accessible to all budget levels.

The site described as "long overdue" by Marco Solorio, owner of OneRiver Media, features an intuitive application, approval, and upload system. The site's "Producers" are able to create a free account, apply to become a producer, and usually have their footage on the site for sale the same day. "We wanted to create a true community where our RevoStock producers are celebrated for their skills," said Craig Lillard, President and Founder of Revolution Stock Media. "Each piece of footage is attributed to the producer that uploaded it and they each have their own profile and portfolio page they can use to share their work with their clients, peers, and other RevoStock users," he said.

"It just makes so much sense to have this available to the video and film community," says Marco Solorio. "The moment I was made aware of the concept, even before there was a website online, I got really excited. Once I finally saw the first incarnations of the site, I knew this would be something special! So simple and easy to use! It's just a no-brainer!"

Since the site is inherently community based, end-users and site producers are allowed contact with one another through the forum. If a videographer in Phoenix needs a specific shot of a New York City subway, they can post a "Footage Request" on the website's forum allowing RevoStock producers in the NYC area to respond to this request by shooting the footage or uploading footage they already have.

Producers who join and upload their footage now, will receive higher introductory royalty-rates as an incentive. RevoStock producers may choose to offer their footage exclusively through the website earning them a 60% return on each sale. "This royalty rate is practically unheard of in the royalty-free microstock community," says Lillard.  Users who do not wish to sell their footage exclusively through RevoStock may upload their footage on a non-exclusive basis and still enjoy a 45% royalty rate.

Pricing and Availability:  With some of the lowest prices in the industry, RevoStock users may purchase footage at only $15 for NTSC and PAL, $20 for HDV and $25-$35 for HD.  All footage is available for immediate download.  A free piece of footage is given away each month to registered users.
