Recombinant Data Convenes Translational Science Panel at AMIA 2012 Joint SummitsSession Features Clinical and Biospecimen Data Integration Case Studies From City of Hope, Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson, and UC Irvine (March 14, 2012)
NEWTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/14/12 -- Recombinant Data, a healthcare data warehousing and clinical intelligence solutions provider, today announced that the company will lead a panel on translational bioinformatics and clinical research informatics at the AMIA 2012 Joint Summits on Translational Science held from March 19 - 23 in San Francisco. Featured presenters include clinicians, researchers, and scientists from City of Hope, Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson, and the University of California, Irvine.
The panel will be held on Thursday, March 22 from 12:15 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. PT. Michael Kamerick, managing director of Health Systems Solutions at Recombinant Data, will moderate. Panelists include:
- Jack London, PhD, Informatics Shared Resource Center Director, Kimmel Cancer Center at Jefferson, who will describe how he and his team created biospecimen and tumor registries and are expanding data sets to include clinical trial, ambulatory care, and biomarker data using the Recombinant Data Trust data warehouse and i2b2.
- Leanne Streja, DrPH, Senior Programmer Analyst, Srisairam Achuthan, PhD, MS, Senior Scientific Programmer, City of Hope, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, who will present how they developed and leverage their i2b2-based iCoDE (Interactive Cohort Discovery Engine) for clinical and biospecimen data integration.
- Lisa Dahm, PhD, Director, Clinical Informatics, University of California, Irvine, who will discuss the UC-ReX project in which i2b2 and the Shared Health Research Information Network (SHRINE) are being used to create a federated data warehouse serving the five University of California medical center campuses: UCLA; UC, San Diego; UC, San Francisco; UC, Davis; and UC, Irvine.
