Reality Check Studios Expands Design Team

Studio moves into 10,000 sq. ft. facility (November 14, 2001)
Reality Check Studios has moved into a new 10,000 square foot space on Melrose Blvd, and has expanded its staff. Judy Leise will operate as Reality Check Studio's Business Development Director, and Designers Francisco Chaigneau and Matías Rivera round out the RCS design team.

Reality Check Studios (RCS) has completed groundbreaking visual effects & design projects for feature film, broadcast networks, advertising agencies and location-based graphical installations. The new additions aim to increase new business opportunities in broadcast design and visual effects for the film and television advertising markets.

Leise joins Reality Check Studios from St. Louis, MO-based Alchemy Communications, a design and communications firm, where she served as President and Creative Director. At Alchemy, Leise worked with such clients as Anheuser-Busch, Energizer and Ralston. She grew the company into a million dollar corporation specializing in technology based marketing communications and media production. Leise oversaw of all aspects of new business development and overall corporate strategy of the company and was responsible for creative supervision and production. She has a Masters of Fine Arts from Washington University in St. Louis. As Business Development Director, Leise will oversee expansion of the RCS client base, and increasing growth into the film and advertising visual effects markets.

Francisco Chaigneau
and Matías Rivera were discovered by RCS and recruited as a design team from their native Chile. The design duo founded CineFX; they were the first post-production house in Chile to provide 3D animation and visual effects solutions on the Mac. Francisco rounded out the technical side as a 3D animator, with involvement in high-end production. Matías focused on the creative side as an editor and art director. Their work incorporated commercial and experimental projects. Their client roster included Nestle, Coca-Cola, Procter and Gamble, Lever and Pepsi. In addition, they completed a video for Chilean artist, Roberto Matta.

Francisco Chaigneau holds a degree in Advertising and Design from the University of Arts and Sciences of Communications in Chile. Chaigneau got his start in design and animation working as a Multimedia Designer for his University, on CD-ROM, Web and animation projects. He quickly moved into the professional marketplace and is a highly accomplished digital media artist. Matías Rivera studied Language and Hispanic Literature at the Universidad de Chile. He became involved in the digital arts during university through Film Direction, Avid and Adobe workshops. Rivera started his career doing workshops and demonstrations for VideoGrafica, the leading Avid and Softimage reseller in Chile. He left the company to become the Art Director for "Rock & Pop", the first experimental television channel to launch in Chile. Prior to co-founding CineFX with Chaigneau, Rivera worked as an Avid Editor on television commercials with Bustamante Producciones. Rivera is an award-winning art director with extensive editing and design experience. He was recently awarded 2nd prize in the Kent Explora Video Animation Contest for the short film "Sinestesia".

In addition to new staff additions, Reality Check Studios has moved into its new home on Melrose Blvd. in Hollywood, CA. The 10,000 square foot facility boasts a state of the art technical infrastructure with over 30 graphics workstations, an SGI Onyx 2 real time graphics system,client lounge and production space. Reality Check Studios' slate-of-services include visual effects supervision, conceptual design of effects shots, pre-visualization, transparent effects (wire/rig removal, smoke, dust and debris), 3D animation, compositing and full-scale production of effects sequences.
