RealViz Ships ImageModeler 3.5

New release comes to Mac OS X By Dave Nagel
RealViz has released ImageModeler 3.5, an application designed to convert photographs and other 2D art into 3D models and scenes. ImageModeler was previously only available for Windows. The new version is available now only for Mac OS X, with a WIndows version scheduled for release in the first quarter of next year.

ImageModeler uses proprietary algorithms to extract 3D information from 2D images. It includes automatic texturing from photographs and the ability to make point to point measurements and to create textures per object with the Unwrap Texture feature. It also offers a new calibration engine for faster and more accurate scene reconstruction, according to RealViz..

ImageModeler is available now for Mac OS X for $750. Users of the WIndows 3.0 version are being offered a free upgrade to the Mac OS X 3.5 version, if it was purchased after Sept. 9. Other upgrade options are also available. For more in formation, visit
