Raritan Deploys Aryaka: Oracle Data Guard Traffic Instantly Reduced 70 Percent for Faster Data Replication; Network Capacity Quadruples for New Applications(February 29, 2012)
MILPITAS, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/29/12 -- Raritan, a leading provider of IT infrastructure management solutions, has selected Aryaka's cloud-based WAN optimization and application acceleration solution over costly MPLS networks and hardware-based WAN optimization appliances, including Riverbed's Steelhead products. The Aryaka solution immediately reduced Raritan's Oracle Data Guard traffic by 70 percent and quadrupled network capacity providing enough bandwidth to add new applications while realizing significant savings from lower total cost of ownership (TCO).
Aryaka enables Raritan to:
- Compress Oracle Data Guard traffic by 70 percent
- Increase bandwidth capacity 4X
- Add new Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) applications on top of its ERP system
"The Aryaka solution enables me to estimate and determine my capacity for better planning," said Simon Ku, Manager of Information Technology, North America for Raritan. "We saw an immediate increase in the performance of our ERP applications and data replication. What we like best is the visibility of the MyAryaka portal that shows us much more granular detail than what our MPLS service provider was delivering -- seeing is believing."
Raritan was facing the obstacle of MPLS links that were nearly saturated, preventing the company from layering a desired Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution on top of its Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) suite of applications.
Oracle Data Guard replication between Raritan's Taipei manufacturing facilities and New Jersey offices was not efficient over the company's mix of MPLS links and IP VPNs. The company needed a solution that would reduce Oracle Data Guard traffic and free capacity for new applications.
By deploying Aryaka's secure WAN optimization delivered-as-a-service, Raritan's global teams are now equipped with faster access to applications, enabling them to collaborate more effectively and exchange information in real-time. With the web-based MyAryaka customer portal, Raritan gains visibility into its networks so they can sharpen their planning process, and can add new applications and speed Time-to-Market (TTM) for their products. The company also saves tens of thousands of dollars annually by leapfrogging costly MPLS links and WAN optimization appliances.
Aryaka is the world's first cloud-based WAN optimization company solving application and network performance issues faced by the distributed enterprise. Aryaka has been named "Cool Vendor" by a leading analyst firm and to the GigaOm Structure 50 list for companies that will shape the future of cloud computing. Aryaka eliminates the need for expensive and complex appliances as well as long-haul connectivity, and enhances collaboration across locations. It offers significant cost, ease-of-use and performance advantages, helping global companies achieve dramatic productivity gains and increased visibility into their WAN applications, locations and performance, while providing 24/7 world-class support.
