Rapid Adoption of Adobe Creative Suite Spurs Conference GrowthExpanded Creative Suite and Adobe InDesign events announced for Chicago this May 15-20, speaker line-up expanded (February 14, 2006)
Increased demand by creative and print professionals for training in the use of Adobe Systems Creative Suite of products resulted in a doubling of attendance over last year at the CS Power Tour Conference held in Miami February 2-4. Conference participants came from as far away as Iceland, Argentina and Guatemala to learn from an all-star lineup of training experts. As a result, conference producer Barrycon (http://www.barrycon.com ) has announced that two expanded Creative Suite training events are coming to Chicago this May.
?Creative professionals around the globe are benefiting from powerful new tools, said Barry Anderson, founder of the InDesign and Creative Suite Conferences. ?But as software choices improve, so increases the complexity and the need for accelerated learning. In 2005 Barrycon produced events in Sydney, London, Miami, Las Vegas, Johannesburg, Cape Town, San Francisco and Amsterdam. ?Our two new Chicago events are a direct result of our global experience listening to graphic arts professionals, said Anderson. ?Every event changes with the needs of our audience.
Coming May-15-18, 2006 the 2006 InDesign Conference will be followed immediately by The 2006 Creative Suite Conference, which runs through May 20. Both events take place in Chicagos City Center and include material for new and experienced creative professionals. The two events have been carefully planned to compliment each other and discounts are available for those attending the full week of education.
?Both Adobe and Quark are upping the ante with features like transparency, complex image-editing and job-management tools, said Anderson. ?Our terrific line-up of unbiased and independent speakers are well-suited to give practical and efficient information. We promise to cut through the marketing hype and present realistic views of these important applications.
Industry veterans and best-selling authors David Blatner, Sandee Cohen, Steve Werner, Robin Williams, Anne-Marie Concepcion, Ben Wilmore, Jori Curry, Jim Maivald and Claudia McCue populate various sessions across the three upcoming conferences. Expert speakers from Adobe Systems include Dov Isaacs, Principal Scientist in Print Workflow, application engineer Adam Pratt, Tim Cole, senior InDesign evangelist, and Terry White, Technical Resource Manager and best-selling author. And just added are several new speakers including renowned European designer Branislav Millic, award-winning New York designer Scott Citron, prolific author Ted Alspach, technical expert Diane Burns, color specialist Chris Murphy and InDesign author and Web publisher Pariah S. Burke. Each event contains a mix of application training sessions and topic-oriented presentations, along with group discussion and close audience participation.
In addition to the classroom education, social events and sponsor-participation fill up the schedule. Sponsors of Barrycon events have included Adobe Systems, EnFocus Software, Managing Editor, Inc., Markzware, Woodwing Software, Wacom, and many others.
Complete schedules and information are available at http://www.barrycon.com. Various pricing packages are available so that each attendee can tailor a program that is best suited to their needs. Due to unexpected demand, discounted hotel rooms are in short supply and Barrycon expects a complete sell-out well before the May event dates.
?We work hard to produce affordable, productive events that remain topical, said Anderson. ?In our travels around the world this past year weve discovered one universal truth among creative professionals: they dont have time to waste!
