Radium Welcomes CG Artist John Baker

Brings years of experience in animation and visual effects (July 01, 2004)

Leading digital effects studio Radium is pleased to announce the addition of CG Artist John Baker to its team. Baker had been collaborating with Radium as a freelance artist since December 2003 on numerous commercial projects, and joins now on a permanent basis. He also already contributed to spots for Kool-Aid, Aspen Beer, McDonalds, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Lugz via Radium.

John Baker joins Radium with years of experience in animation and visual effects for film, television, commercials and music videos. Most recently, he was an Instructor and Systems Advisor at Gnomon School of Visual Effects, as well as a Producer and CG Artist at Digital Comandos. As a producer, Baker worked on the feature film Lab Rats and was involved in the development and early pre-production phases for the feature length animation. Baker was also CG Lead Artist and 3D Animator on various other projects including the films Painting with Fire and Piņata, commercials for Tang, Dr. Scholls and Atlantis Luxury Hotel, as well as a music video for Nappy Roots.


Prior to that, Baker enjoyed successful tenures at Route 66 Productions and 525 Studios as 3D Animator, and Faye Dunaway Productions as CG Effects Supervisor. He was also a Siggraph Instructor at Rayz Silicon Grail where he taught students how to use the Rayz compositing system. The talented artist is well versed in a variety of software platforms for 3D, 2D and compositing such as Maya, RealFlow, Deep Paint, Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, Shake and Combustion to name a few. Throughout his successful career, Baker has worked with high-profile clients including Atlantic Records, Kraft Foods, and ad agencies Ground Zero Advertising and Ogilvy & Mather/NY.
