Radio Industry Veteran Al Jason Joins Harris Corporations Broadcast Team As District Sales Manager

(July 16, 2007)
DMN Newswire--2007-7-16--Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), an international communications and information technology company, announced that radio industry veteran Al Jason has joined its radio sales team as district sales manager for the Northwestern U.S. region.  In his new position, Jason is responsible for an eight-state territory that includes Washington, Oregon, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota and Alaska.

Jason brings over 33 years of broadcasting and RF engineering experience to his new position.  He previously served as western regional sales manager of radio products for Dielectric Communications, Inc., western regional sales manager for ERI, and domestic sales manager for Jampro Antennas, Inc.

Since all three companies are strong players in the radio antenna market, as well as Harris-direct vendors, Jason is extremely familiar with the Harris product line, which includes Harris® HD Radio and analog transmitters, studio networking systems and consoles, Intraplex® STL products, as well as systems integration services.

Jason is well known in the industry and is a frequent speaker on RF and HD Radio transmission topics at the Society of Broadcast Engineers chapter meetings and other key industry events.  During his broadcast sales career, he has built an extensive network of customer contacts at radio stations nationwide ? from the corporate offices to the engineers on the front lines.  In his new role, he will build upon these relationships and will develop new business in the region.

?We are very pleased to add Al to our radio sales team, said Chris Pannell, director of North American radio sales for Harris Corporation.  ?His reputation in the industry and depth of experience strengthens our sales team, which now covers every corner of the United States ? from the largest station group to the smallest independent operation.

?This is an exciting time for Harris due to the growth potential for HD Radio broadcasting.  I see where the company is headed, and the strength of its new products, and I am very happy to be a part of that, said Jason.  ?HD Radio broadcasting, which is just getting off the ground in the top 100 markets, will provide radio broadcasters the opportunity to garner new revenue streams within their existing spectrum.  And consumers will appreciate the HD Radio standards expanded channel choices and digital sound quality.

?My goal is to bring a high standard of customer service and satisfaction to this position, added Jason.  ?I will be calling on radio station groups across the Northwestern territory to promote the knowledge that they can obtain virtually all the hardware and software they need for their HD Radio operations from Harris or its Channel Partners.
