RED GIANT AND TRAPCODEA Giant Acquisition
Red Giant Software's Andrew Little restated his press quote this morning, noting, "It truly is two companies combining what we do best. Trapcode: Engineering. Red Giant: Sales, support, marketing. We're going to take Trapcode to numerous other hosts, including FCP."
When I contacted Peder this morning, he said that he was very excited about this. He praised Red Giant, and in the release about the partnership said, "Red Giant is the ideal match for Trapcode."
He confessed that it was the same as the press release had stated, but there was really no better way to say it concisely. I would have to agree. This allows Peder to focus more time on creating the next generation of motion graphic plugins, freeing him up from the considerable amount of support email that comes to Trapcode directly.
The Trapcode plugins first gained popularity with the Shine plugin for After Effects. Since then with the addition of 3D Stroke, Sound Keys, Starglow, Lux, Particular and Echospace, more diverse artists are coming to the plugin for quick and easy motion graphics effects.
Now that all of the Trapcode plugins fully support After Effects 7, Red Giant Software can facilitate work on the porting of the popular effects into other host applications. Of course, Apple Final Cut Pro users will want to take advantage of the suite of effects, and Red Giant Software will make sure that the software host is addressed.
Until then, Red Giant Software has created an array of software packages for Trapcode plugins that mix and match sets for users based on their specific needs. The plugins from Trapcode, once offered in one massive set, or a la carte can now be ordered according to custom bundle.
Did you know that StarGlow now comes with 30 presets? More on that and other news coming up....
