RE:Vision FX @ NABA Glimpse of something new
RE:Vision Effects develops software to help animators and compositors gain artistic and editorial control over all of that pixel data. Their technology has been featured in major motion pictures, including What Dreams May Come, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Mission: Impossible III, Hellboy, Superman Returns, Aeon Flux, Sin City, Star Wars: Episode III, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Van Helsing, and more. Their plugins have also been used on countless television shows, commercials, music videos and television promos.
You may have seen REEL SMART MOTION BLUR, TWIXTOR, or other plugins made by the dynamic duo - and not even known it. A new seamless effect which will release shortly from the company is a mask feathering tool, allowing users to blend and feather pairs of mask shapes on a "per vertex" level.
Dave Basulto and I caught up with Pierre at the booth during NAB to get a little preview - - here's some of what we can show you now. Stay tuned for announcements from the company soon!
