RAMI Uses Digigram USB Audio Technology in New Audio MixerDigigram technology brings new RAMI PJO 550 product to market in record time (October 14, 2005)
RAMI's new PJO 550 audio mixer
"The primary benefit for us is the incredibly low time to market that we were able to achieve thanks to the partnership with Digigram. We had the idea to connect our new work station audio mixer via the USB port to the computer, but didn't have the necessary resources in-house. Digigram's USB Audio module was right there, with all the necessary tools that we needed to easily implement USB connectivity in our product: well-designed hardware featuring Digigram's famous audio quality, proper documentation and specialised support." stated Gérard Storck, RAMI Technical Manager. "We are very pleased to have made the "buy" decision and not the "make" decision. Only six weeks after starting the development, we have already received the first significant order. That's what it all comes down to."
"The partnership with Rami is a perfect example of Digigram's way to do business," commented Digigram CEO Philippe Delacroix. "We specialise in developing generic OEM solutions - not only hardware products, but as well software and application development middleware - that can spark the creativity of a broad range of manufacturers and software vendors. Our products enable our 120+ development partners to concentrate on their core competencies while leveraging Digigram's audio quality and reliability for their specific markets. At the same time, we use the same components to do our own finished-goods products."
RAMI's PJO 550 is the first work station audio mixer specifically designed for broadcast applications such as TV voice tracking that connects to the computer through the USB port. A stereo line signal from the computer, a balanced microphone signal, and an auxiliary balanced line stereo signal can be mixed and recorded as a stereo signal to the computer or routed to a balanced stereo output. The microphone input features phantom power, an equaliser, a limiter and a balanced insert for voice processing. All volume controls are made through VCAs and all switching is electronic, thus ensuring ultimate reliability.
RAMI proposes a complete range of analog or digital products that work in broadcast and industrial environments. We also offer a technical support for the installation, a business team to guide you in your project as well as an engineering team which realises your needs.
