Quick Tip: Maxon BodyPaint 3DPreparing textures for Anark Studio
There are several ways BodyPaint 3D can integrate with third-party applications, including Anark Studio, and we'll explore several of these in the future. For now, I wanted to present a preparatory exercise for working with BodyPaint in conjunction with Anark Studio, a multimedia development suite for Mac OS X and Windows that incorporates 3D features. This is a fairly simple process, but one that will allow you to to get started creating some 3D effects for your multimedia presentation.
For this particular example, we'll be working with a mushroom texture that I had started making within Anark Studio, but decided to paint in BodyPaint instead. The whole process took about 30 minutes--and that includes time off for distractions.
Here are the steps for BodyPaint (The manual or tutorials may tell you differently, but this is the lazy way about it).
1. Open your model in BodyPaint 3D. (If you're operating BodyPaint from within Cinema 4D, just switch layouts to BodyPaint (BP 3D Paint);
2. Click on the Paint Setup Wizard, click "Next" until it closes out the window;
3. Choose brushes and paint away, either on the texture (view mesh) or on the model itself.
Piece of cake.
Don't forget to check out the wide variety of brushes that come standard in BodyPaint.
