Pulse Digital Announces Distribution Partnerships

DVD SelectNet provides automated DVD authoring & production (February 07, 2005)

Pulse Digital, the leading developer of automated DVD authoring and digital asset management (DAM) solutions, announced today that, effective immediately, distributors Data Distributing, Microboards and New Wave Technologies will distribute its DVD SelectNet and newly-introduced DVD SelectNet SE enabling many more resellers to deliver these products and fulfill client demand.

Following last weeks announcement of the improved version of DVD SelectNet and the lower-cost DVD SelectNet SE, Pulse Digital is generating excitement within several very different markets, including the advertising agencies, corporate marketing & training groups, universities, and medical communities. The patent-pending platform integrates asset management with automated DVD production, streamlining operations because of its speed and ease of use.

DVD SelectNet enables any organization to easily build a digital media library and allows users to create customized DVDs automatically from the content of that library. These fully-authored DVDs are ideal for distributing corporate presentations, training materials or final sale of media because the finished DVDs are of the highest, professional quality.

?There is a pent-up demand for automating the DVD authoring process, said Mark Hirsch, Pulse Digitals Chief Technology Officer. ?We have seen a tremendous response everywhere, and these distributors help us deliver solutions to a broader market that includes corporations of all sizes, universities, and medical facilities. These distribution companies are run by very smart individuals who recognize the value for their end-users, and were proud to be working with them.

DVD SelectNet works as a stand-alone system as well as integrated with the Rimage line of automated DVD recorders and printers. ?We selected these distributors because of their strong knowledge of the Rimage product line. Its just a natural fit, adds Pulse President Lee Golinello. ?Having the Rimage integration means that any user of DVD SelectNet can have fully automated production and delivery of their DVDs, in any reasonable quantity, without any human intervention. That performance directly improves the clients bottom line.

By integrating DAM with DVD creation, DVD SelectNet offers capabilities not typically associated with DVD production. For example, by selecting the ?Hybrid Disc option, a user can easily attach non-media files such as Word & pdf documents, Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint presentations and uncompressed image/video files. There is no file type restriction. Another option allows the content on the disc to be automatically organized with multiple menu pages so that navigating the DVD is professional and easy.

?Because DVD SelectNet is a network-based solution, creating a professional DVD is like printing a Word-document, said Hirsch. ?It takes only 1 minute for the user to select the media and submit the job via a standard web browser. Then the user goes back to work, and his/her machine is not tied up. The process is so amazingly simple and transparent.

Microboards will be distributing the single-user DVD SelectNet SE system only.
