Producer Lisa Houck Joins Phoenix Edit, Effects & DesignHouck brings experience working on award-winning spots (January 19, 2006)
Said Jonathan Hinman, Executive Producer, Phoenix Edit, Effects & Design, ?Lisa is a perfect fit for us and the direction were headed in. She brings best practices from producing at New York and L.A. shops, and shes smart, funny and buttoned-up. But whats most important to me, is shes dedicated and cares about her clients projects. Its very hard to find a producer who combines all these qualities with a solid technical foundation.Until coming to Phoenix, Houck was the producer at Spot Welders/NY where she worked with editors Haines Hall and Dick Gordon. Among the most note-worthy projects was a large campaign for Tyco directed by Joe Pytka; an effects-intensive multi-media campaign for Target directed by Biscuit for ad agency Mother/NY; effects-intensive spots for Cingular directed by Hungry Mans David Shane for BBDO NY; and a campaign for Titleist directed by Anonymous Contents Robert Logevall for Arnold Worldwide.
Prior to Spot Welders, Houck was assistant editor, then producer for Bikini Edits Avi Oron, also based in Manhattan. Among the spots she worked on were the award-winning ?Carry for Adidas directed by Biscuits Noam Murro via TBWA/Chiat/Day, and an XM Radio campaign directed by David LaChapelle via Mullen, NC. She also produced the AICP award-winning ?Save the World PSA for the Ad Councils ?Give Blood campaign.
From 1999-2003, Houck worked as a freelance assistant editor with Bikini Edit, Cosmo Street, Bob and Sheilas Edit World, and Phoenix Edit, Effects & Design. Some notable projects she has helped cut include a Spike Jonze-directed music video for Tenacious D, a Roman Coppola-directed spot for Levis, and a Kuntz and Maguire-helmed Boost Mobile campaign. She received her Bachelors of Arts Degree in Broadcast Electronic Arts from San Francisco State University in 1996.
Houck cites the resurgence of the San Francisco advertising industry as one of the main reasons for coming back to the Bay Area. ?I wasnt sure after producing in NYC if I could come back to a smaller market. But in the past year or so, the industry in the Bay Area has taken off again. Agencies are winning bigger accounts, producing better creative, and Phoenix has long been the areas go-to editorial company for amazing creative work. Its the kind of company I want to be a part of in this exciting time.
