ProVenue(R) by Tickets.com(R), Inc. Selected by The Lakeland CenterChosen Over 11 Other Vendors in Competitive RFP Process (February 22, 2012)
COSTA MESA, CA and LAKELAND, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 02/22/12 -- After 15 years of outsourcing their ticketing services, Florida's Lakeland Center has made the strategic decision to control their brand, fees and customer service operations by partnering with Tickets.com, Inc., the global leader of integrated, high-performance ticketing solutions -- and using ProVenue, the industry's most advanced ticketing technology platform.
The Lakeland Center -- "Central Florida's Sports, Convention and Entertainment Complex" -- is the only multipurpose facility in the state of Florida with four distinct venues under one roof, and features a 10,000 seat arena, a 2,186 seat theater and over 100,000 square feet of flexible conference space.
Tickets.com's ProVenue system was developed as the first platform in sports and live entertainment to offer an open architecture design allowing it to meet the specific and evolving needs of clients. ProVenue's hosted infrastructure, browser-based access, on-demand scalability, robust data management tools and incomparable flexibility will enable The Lakeland Center to establish all fees, manage online content and own the customer relationship.
The Lakeland Center will also implement ProVenueMobile and integrated access control -- allowing customers to manage transactions "end-to-end" on their smart phones, including the entire purchase process and delivery of a mobile barcode to their device for entry to an event.
Michael LaPan, Executive Director of the Center says he looks forward to a successful transition to Tickets.com. His staff found the ticket selling application easy to learn and the business terms give him the flexibility to extend their brand online and through partnerships with other facilities in Central Florida.
"The advanced technology this system brings combined with the versatility and flexibility the system offers will allow us to provide our customers with a high level of service and at a reasonable price," LaPan said. "The opportunity to partner with Tickets.com -- while also further developing The Lakeland Center brand -- will make the process and the changes associated with developing our brand so much easier."
John Walker, President and CEO of Tickets.com, commended The Lakeland Center's thorough selection process, adding, "We're extremely excited and grateful that the team at Lakeland Center has chosen Tickets.com as their ticketing technology partner. I believe this firmly validates our approach to technology, as well as our ability to match up, compete and win in the marketplace. The Center gives Tickets.com a flagship tenant in Central Florida that will help expand our company's presence in the region."
