Titled, "Improving Data Center Efficiency and Reliability," Power Assure's Technology Innovation session will be held on Tuesday, May 15, from 2:40 to 3:10 p.m. Through the use of several case studies, Mr. Pfeiffer will discuss the steps that IT can take to improve data center energy efficiency and reclaim valuable resources. Steps will include IT, facility and operational improvements.

"Data centers waste a substantial amount of energy. The reason is that they are designed for capacity, performance and reliability, usually at the expense of efficiency," said Clemens Pfeiffer. "Such waste unnecessarily increases capital and operational expenditures, and can result in finite resources, particularly power and space, being exhausted, thereby creating a situation where the organization might outgrow its data center."

Attendees at the Power Assure booth will learn how data center operators can better monitor, plan, manage and optimize capacity and associated facility resources with EM/4 energy management software to reduce power costs, extend data center life and automate existing processes without compromising service levels.
