Polycom Acquires ASPI Digital, Adds Installed Voice Conferencing to Offerings

ASPI's product development and marketing teams remain based Atlanta (December 04, 2001)
Polycom, a worldwide leader in the convergence of interactive voice, video and data communications, today announced that it has acquired, for a purchase price of approximately $5 million, Atlanta-based Atlanta Signal Processors, Inc. (ASPI Digital), a leading manufacturer of products for the installed voice systems market. The acquisition will add to Polycoms existing table-top voice solutions to include custom-room environments and large conference areas.

"The acquisition of ASPI Digital enables Polycom to now offer a complete solution for custom-room environments, integrating industry-leading voice and video systems," said Bob Hagerty, chairman and CEO of Polycom. "We plan to leverage the strong technology synergies between our high-end video communications products and ASPIs high-quality installed room voice systems to provide an ideal solution for applications such corporate board rooms, executive centers and distance learning environments."

ASPI Digital provides a range of voice products for the installed voice and video conferencing markets. These products incorporate innovative technologies such as noise cancellation, multi-channel acoustic echo cancellation and automatic microphone mixing for larger conferencing applications that will complement Polycoms industry leading Acoustic Clarity Technology.
