Police may issue death photo to ID Pitt shooter

Pittsburgh police hope to circulate post-mortem photo to get public help ID'ing clinic shooter By The Associated Press

PITTSBURGH (AP) ' Investigators are trying to get a medical examiner's photo of the dead Pittsburgh clinic gunman in hopes the public can help identify him.

Police spokeswoman Diane Richard says the man had no identification and his fingerprints didn't match any in a national database.

The man walked into the lobby of the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh on Thursday and opened fire with two semiautomatic pistols.

He fatally shot one clinic employee and wounded six others. Police say a seventh person was hurt but not by gunfire.

The gunman was fatally shot, apparently by campus police, ending the rampage.

Police haven't said what prompted the shooting or whether they think the gunman had any connection to the clinic or his victims.
