Pixlock Introduces piStabilize for iMovieVideo stabilizer plug-in removes unwanted shaky motion from movies (June 09, 2005)
Pixlock introduces piStabilize, a video stabilizer plug-in for Apple's iMovie. piStabilize removes unwanted shaky motion from movies typically introduced by hand-held cameras. piStabilize compensates for shaky motion in both horizontal and vertical directions as well as rotational shaking and abrupt zooming. It automatically recognizes, cuts, and stabilizes over multiple scenes.
Margins, a common problem of video stabilization, are filled with appropriate colors to make them less obvious, or they can be reduced by zooming. A smart zooming technique applies zooming dynamically and ensures a minimum of image degradation due to magnification.
piStabilize utilizes a caching technique for computed motion, which saves from repeatedly computing motion when reapplying stabilization. This significantly improves performance and efficiency in practical use.
piStabilize handles all major DV movie formats such as NTSC, PAL, 1080i, and 720p.
piStabilize runs on MacOS X and requires at least iMovie 3.0.1.
