Pixel Farm Ships PFMatch

Match-moving software offers automatic tracking and calibration By Dave Nagel
Pixel Farm has released a new match-moving application called PFMatch. The new software, according to the company, has been built "from the ground up" to take advantage of Mac OS X 10.3 and Apple G5 hardware. It's available now for both Mac OS X and Windows.

PFMatch analyzes video footage to create a virtual camera for use in 3D systems, allowing users to match the movement and camera parameters of the original sequence. The software provides automatic tracking and calibration, a tracking guide, constraints, survey data input and export to companion applications (offering integration with PFTrack and the forthcoming PFBarn). It supports DV, SD and HD resolutions and QuickTime and AVI formats. According to Pixel Farm, PFMatch is optimized for G5 hardware and is multithreaded to take advantage of multiple processors.

PFMatch is available now for Mac OS X 10.3 and Windows for $1,000. For more information, visit
