Pioneer Intros Next-Generation DVD-R DriveDVR-A05 coming in November
The drive features a new high-speed writing pickup that uses new laser driver technology designed for stable writing performance at high speeds. It also includes a new liquid crystal tilt mechanism for operation with discs that have uneven curvature or thickness. According to Pioneer, the DVR-A05 doubles writing performance of the A04 with 4x DVD-R, 2x DVD-RW, 16x CD-R and 8x CD-RW capabilities. The company says the new speed allows for recording a 4.7 GB DVD in about 15 minutes.
