Pinnacle Ships CineWave for Mac OS X

Pinnacle Systems has released an update to CineWave, the company's non-linear editing system for Macintosh. Version 3.0 offers support for Mac OS X 10.2.3 and has been certified by Apple for use with Final Cut Pro 3.0.4. The OS X version is a free update for current users.

According to Pinnacle, CineWave 3 running under Mac OS X offers improved performance and also includes several new features, including more than 20 free real-time effects ranging from transitions to image controls to a two-way color corrector. In addition, the included Knoll Light Factory and CineAcquire software now run natively under Mac OS X.

The CineWave codec has also received some improvements, including gamma and chroma control options. CineWave 3 also provides new CineSuperSync audio capability for audio/video sync when used with Final Cut 3.0.4. And it now also delivers 24p standard-definition support with simultaneous 29.97 FPS external video monitoring.
