Photoshop 7 Nears Release

New version to gain AppleScript support By Dave Nagel
During this morning's keynote presentation at Macworld, Steve Jobs handed the stage over to representatives from Adobe. The company discussed its Mac announcements, which included the shipping of After Effects 5.5 for OS X, as well as the forthcoming releases of GoLive 6.0 and LiveMotion 2.0 for OS X and OS 9. The company also announced Photoshop for OS X.

Photoshop for OS X, according to Adobe, is currently in its final release candidate stage. The company showed the software working on OS X. It included support for AppleScript, making it the first AppleScriptable version of Photoshop to date. It will also have spell checking capabilities.

Adobe covered very few details of the forthcoming release and did not offer a final ship date, although they did say it would be coming "soon." We'll bring you more details as they become available. For more information, visit http://www.adobe.com.
