Percieving Quality - from cinema to mobile
Perceptions of a ?quality of image experience can be said to have been built out of a singular predictability - theatrical print and an established mode of watching with a large degree of consistency from theatre to theatre. The introduction of TV gave us a two-tiered system that lead in large part to the common percpetion of ?Television as a secondary medium in terms of ?quality; the distinctly hierachical structure of films released for cinema first and TV broadcast last as one example - the wide spread academic privialidging of Cinema as high-art, Tv as low-art, as another.
But we now have distinct moves in two divergent directions that challenge this?
